Your Past Doesn't Define Your Future

What makes you stop moving forward with your life? Is it your past that prevents you from living the life that you deserve?

I had too but not anymore.

I realized that whatever events in the past, or failures that I made, God has a wonderful reason in doing so.

My past had shaken my pride and realigned my values. The things that I considered valuable, important became the least of things in my life now because God showed me His ways and His ways are totally different with mine.

The trials that I've been through became the litmus test that shrugged off the rusts in me.

The crossroads that I faced made me more trustful and considerate to people around me.

Like the man in this video, be humble to admit your mistakes and accept help. No matter how far we've been through we can always find the way back...get back on our feet and allow God to redirect our path for a new and vibrant tomorrow...

God Can Use Your Weaknesses

I can't imagine that after all the mistakes I've made in the past, God can still use me for HIS purpose.

I felt so blessed today because Bo Sanchez' Article Don't Be Too Hard On Yourself reminds me of how the LOVE OF GOD is bigger than any of my mistakes. That HE loves me no matter what.

Your Weakness Is God’s Redirection
Don’t be too hard on yourself because of your weakness.
Your weakness isn’t God’s rejection but God’s redirection.
Being weak in one area means that’s not where God wants you to serve. A weakness means you’re supposed to serve in another area.
I remember the story of this jobless man who applied to work as a janitor of a huge company.
After the HR manager interviewed him, he said, “You’re hired. Just give me your email address so I can email you the application form to fill…”
The man said, “I’m sorry, I don’t have an email address. I don’t know how to use the computer.”
“Then I’m sorry too,” said the HR manager, “if you don’t have an email, that means you don’t exist. And someone who doesn’t exist won’t get a job.”
The jobless man walked out of room totally discouraged.
He only had P300 in his pocket. That was all the money he had. He remembered his little daughter at home. He imagined her going hungry and decided to do something.
He went to the market and bought a box of tomatoes. He then went door to door, selling the tomatoes. In three hours, he was able to double his money to P600. He repeated the operation 3 times that day, returning home with P2400.
The man realized that he can survive this way!
Shortly after, he bought a cart, then a truck, and after a couple of years, he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.
Ten years later, he was a big-time food distributor, a very successful and wealthy man.
At that time, a friend sold him life insurance.
When this wealthy man was filling out his insurance application form, it asked for his email address. He told his friend, the insurance agent, “I don’t have an email address.”
The friend said, “Wow, you don’t have an email, and yet you succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?”
The man thought for awhile and said, “Janitor.”

God Will Never Abandon You

That in your worst trials, God has never abandoned you.

When you got sick with cancer.

Or when you lost your job.

Or when your house burned down.

Or when your husband had an affair.

Or when your son turned to drugs.

Or when your daughter became pregnant out of wedlock.

Or when your friends turned against you.

Or when you were heartbroken by someone you trusted.

Or when you were falsely accused.

Or when you were buried in a mountain of debt.

Or when you fell into sin.

Or when you lost a loved one…

Through all these storms, God was there, holding your hand, steadying your steps, guiding your way. God was there, hiding you under the shadow of His wings. God was there, covering you with His Divine protection.

Why?

God is faithful.

"Just Only Say The Word and I Shall Be Healed"

5 When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and appealed to him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully.” 7 He said to him, “I will come and cure him.” 8 The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. 9 For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith. 11 I say to you, many will come from the east and the west, and will recline with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the banquet in the kingdom of heaven.”

Facing Your Fears

When I'm watching this video, it reminds me of myself most of the time. I have so much fears in me. And most of these fears are hunting me. And I keep running...running..running.

Then one day, the worst fear I have in mind happened.

After that incident, I learned a lesson that the cougar in video failed to do: TO ASK FOR HELP WHILE THERE'S ENOUGH TIME. DON'T WAIT WHEN IT'S TOO LATE TOO ASK.

God Wants You To Conquer Your Fear
The whole Bible is a story of God calling people out of their Comfort Zones and into their Courage Zones.
Abraham was very comfortable in the land of Ur.
He was born there. He played marbles and patentero there. He got married there. All his friends were there. All his memories were there.
But one day, God said, “Migrate to Canaan.”
And boom, off he went to live in a foreign land.
Moses was very comfortable among the Egyptians.
Because he was a prince. He lived in the palace of Pharaoh. He had servants serving him 24 hours a day. His political career was bright and rosy.
But one day, God called him to go into his Courage Zone. He asked him to lead the entire nation of slaves out of Egypt. Through the red sea. Through the scorching desert. Through the next 40 years! Insane!
Peter was a very comfortable in his fishing boats.
His brother was a fisherman. His father was a fisherman. And his grandfather was a fisherman. Shucks, all his ancestors were fishermen. His life was very peaceful. He saw himself fishing until his retirement.
But one day, God called him to go into his Courage Zone. He asked him to be a fisher of men—and made him the head of the Church.

A Murderer Changes His Life

       My friend Fr. Titus Manansan was giving a recollection to a group of prisoners in Death Row.

       As he spoke, he was very uncomfortable because he could see the hardness in their faces. He wondered how he could penetrate the hardness of their hearts.

       So the whole day, he simply spoke about God’s Love.

       At the end of the day, there was one prisoner at the back who began to sob.

Fr. Titus approached him and sat beside him.

The prisoner said that he couldn’t believe that God loved him.

That was when he told his painful story to Fr. Titus.

He said his father was a cruel man.

When he was a small boy, his father would beat him up everyday. Even when he was asleep, lying down on the floor, his father would kick him for no reason.

One day, when he went home, his father was with his drinking buddies. And his father grabbed him and tossed him to his friends. And they began to pass him around like he was a toy, laughing and ridiculing him the entire time. Finally, his father grabbed him again and threw him out an open window.

And that was when he ran away from home.

At the age of 16, he became a hired killer.

For P200, he would kill anyone.

As a hired gun, he had killed three Mayors. One Governor. One congressman. And many, many more.

And each time he killed, he would see the face of his father in his victim. He had so much anger in his heart, killing was his way of expressing the rage within him.

But on that day, before the priest, he was sobbing because he couldn’t understand why God would still love a murderer like him.

Fr. Titus prayed for him.

And he kept corresponding with him.

Years later, a miracle happened.

This prisoner received a presidential pardon.

Today, this ex-con is preaching about Jesus!

       What changed him?

       The kindness of God.

       It’s the only power that can change our lives.

Give Kindness To Those That Don’t Deserve It!

       It’s your turn.

Give the kindness of God to people who don’t deserve kindness. To people who have offended you, hurt you, maligned you, slandered you, and were selfish towards you.

       If you give kindness only to people who deserve kindness, that’s not love. If you operate on a “I scratch your back if you scratch mine” policy, that’s not love. That’s business!

Give kindness to people who aren’t kind to you.

       People hunger for the kindness of God.

My friend, this kindness of God doesn't ask of who you are. It doesn't judge you nor condemn you. This kindness is FREE. All you need is a contrite heart so that you will be able to receive it.

Remember When...

I missed my sister when I watch this video. Really. I reminisced her married life because literally I was able to witness what she had been through.

Well, her married life was a roller-coaster-ride and horror-train combined.

I would say, she'd just hold on to her married life just for the sake of her eight children. She would always wanted to quit but so afraid to do so.
